Politician's dream
Wouldn't it be the greatest success for the politican to finish in the national pantheon, or, even, in the religious pantheon? Dream, probably, as great selfneglecting for the common prosperity and...etcetc, no I can not make such shit even in a joke :-).
Anyway, few hundred meters from my working place there is a small humble temple, of equally humble benefitor of the Nation (or whatever), in an unexposed street:
And it is dedicated to the successful humble politician, Chiang Kai-shek, leader of the Kuomintang Party, which was the main opposition to the red China after the revolution in China:
Well, as it usually goes, the guy is not loved any more, as he held too much power for too long. All the prerogatives of the sainthood are there, yes?
I do not have anything personal against him or in his favor, no!, I think 5000 years of the Chinese tradition can easily handle with such a guy... However, seeing this I realised what is probably the dream of every humble political worker on this world... just to get such small, humble temple... Although.. this is claimed (by the local people) to be the only such 'political' temple in whole Taiwan. Curious I am... as rather eclectic approach to worhip here provides good possibility for more such places.
For sure this pictures would make any Western political worker to lick his (fat) lips in satisfaction, subconsciously, sure ;-).
Well, accross this guy's temple are strets like this, which did not change much in few dozens of years, except for some technicalities
but some "progress" also came:
Still, it is possible to see even such pictures, as we in Europe usually imagine Chinese sphere:
but I assure you it is rather picture which is to be more and more rare here, in Taiwan. "Thanks" to the successful politicians, sure.
