Shihmen reservoir

For the day of presidential elections in Taiwan, I chosed the visit to Shihmen Reservoir, the largest artificial water reservoir here.

With its dam of 133 m, the reservoir was finished in 1965 year. Large construction project, it helped to regulate the waters which often, coming fast from the mountains, would destroy everything in the flatland below.
It gives drinking water to Taipei, Taoyuan, Jhongli and Hsinchu, but not only this, it is multi-purpose reservoir, also for irrigation.

Weather was warm, but cloudy, as should be in tropics, so my pics are not so beautiful combination of blue of the lake and skies as in touristical folder.
But, the reason why is worth coming here is ...the silence. Jungle and canyons are buffering all the sound, and only few kilometers from the noise of Jhongli or Taoyuan, you can enjoy Nature.

Interesting warning/information sign, especially the last sign. What do you think, what does it mean?

Forbidden to...steal. Chinglish has its correspondence in signs, obviously, not only in writing :-D. I mean, and what if somebody is caught in robbery? They will show him the sign? And he will blush and say: "sorry, I did not see the sign...".
